When doing metal process with laser cutting machine,some unskilled operator need to deal with the relative position change between laser focus and the processing metal surface. In this situation the laser focus position will deviate from the ideal position. How to solve the problem of focus position deviation?

Generally speaking, the focus position deviation is manageable. Usually it can be fixed by quantitative compensation. But sometimes when some random deviation occur, it can only be fixed by inspection and control.

Here are some suggestion to do inspection and control to eliminate the deviation.

1.Work piece geometric deviation. Due to some reason, the processing metal sometimes will have uneven surface. And when doing metal cutting, the thin metal work piece will have some deformation caused by heat-influence, the uneven surface and deformation of metal sheet will lead to random deviation.

2.Working table deviation. The working table will become uneven itself when it receive the longtime abrasion by work piece placed on it. Also, the same effect will be caused by processing deviation and laser light burn. Therefore the uneven working table will also lead to random deviation.

3.The program deviation. During the multi-dimensional processing, the processing track on the surface is illustrated by fitted curve using straight line or curve. This fitted curve will have certain deviation compare with actual curve. In this way a certain deviation will be caused compare with the ideal program position. Please be aware that this deviation will also be adopted into some teaching programming system.

In a conclusion of above points. Unskilled or rookie operator need to pay more attention during the metal processing. Proper adjustment need to be made, in case the laser focus position deviate from the ideal position(program position)And the factor will lead to random deviation including:

Uneven surface of processing metal sheet; how the work piece being loaded on working table; the geometric deviation of working table; the deformation of working table, and the deformation of work piece caused by heat-influence.
